Free school meals in P6 and P7
If you don’t but you
- get the
- have a child in primary 6 or 7
you can get free school meals. You can’t get school holiday payments, free milk or a school clothing grant.
Social Security Scotland will tell us which families get the Scottish Child Payment.
We will use this information to award free school meals to all eligible P6 and P7 children.
Awards will be valid until your child leaves primary school. This means
- P7 children will get free school meals until July 2026
- P6 children will get free school meals until July 2027.
Your award will end earlier if you stop getting the Scottish Child Payment. You must if this happens.
