Workforce development

The Whole Family Wellbeing team offers interactive workshops for school staff and teams working with families. These sessions explore local support services in ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, the barriers families face in accessing help, and how to adopt a more holistic, trauma-informed approach. Workshops are flexible and can be adapted and delivered at a time to suit your team. To find out more or arrange a session email

Data, insight and voice

Evidence-led change is key to creating sustained transformational change. Learning together, challenging practice and systems through a data lens is foundational to the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Whole Family approach. Family voice is deeply embedded within the monitoring and impact reporting, as well as central team-led co-production and parent panel work.

Policy Frameworks and Government strategy 

The WFW approach is part of a national effort to transform family support in Scotland, guided by key policy frameworks: 

WFW Trauma-Informed and Responsive Approach  

All of the funded collaborations are being supported to develop trauma-informed and responsive practice in line with the All practitioners have access to face-to-face trauma-skilled level training, an enhanced level trauma training pilot is underway, and all service leaders are encouraged to attend Scottish Trauma Informed Leaders Training (STILT). 

An interagency trauma-skilled training programme is being developed with children and family services. Support is offered to third-sector partners to utilise the  to help them to identify and reflect on progress, strengths and opportunities for embedding a trauma-informed and responsive approach across policy and practice.  

Trauma-informed parenting sessions and courses are being co-developed with parents with lived experience of trauma.
